-Participation-Officers and firefighters need to participate, not only in duty crews, but other training, exercises, fundraiser events by the Ladies’ Auxiliary, etc.
-Departments’ business stays in the departments. Inquiries from outside the departments should be directed to Chief James Vaughn or Public Information Officer Samantha Henley.
-Decorum/Public Image/PIO-As we work to improve the departments, keep in mind the following rules: Do NOT wear fire department gear or logo clothing into bars or other adult entertainment areas, do NOT initiate or contribute to “internet trolls” or other arguments, and remember to conduct yourself as grown ups at all times.
-Harassment-Physical harassment will result in disciplinary action up to and/or including termination pending investigation and verification of an incident. Verification and validation of Sexual harassment WILL result in IMMEDIATE TERMINATION from the departments.
-Behavior On-Scene and Arrival On-Scene-No talking about personal lives, no talking about other departments and/or rumors, no smoking on-scene, no foul language, gear up, get instruction/information prior to arriving on-scene, conduct yourself in an appropriate and professional manner.
-Ha Ha Tonka Search and Rescue FSE with the Camden County EMA and CERT-May 20-SSVFD personnel meet at Sleeper at 0730.
-Do not leave personal items in trucks.
-Putting trucks back in service- Refuel (truck number, your name, what type of fuel, how many gallons, and print and sign receipt and then write it down in the fuel logbook) and wash truck, track mileage at station, refill water (bottled for consumption and tanks for extinguishing fire), clean and put tools in their place, clean and repack hoses, put full air bottles on truck, make sure pack straps are extended and cleaned, make sure regulator is in its holder, make sure pass device is operational, and clean masks. If equipment is broken REPORT IT TO 1403! If a hose is taken out of service, roll it up backwards. Batteries need to be plugged in and plug in trucks.
