  • The “BS” page is not for people to put themselves Out of Service, please contact an officer directly.
  • Review the Chain of Command: Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Chief (x2), Captain (x2), Lieutenant (x2), Senior Firefighter, Firefighter
  • Start USING the Chain of Command – Start with the Lieutenants and work your way up
  • If an issue deals with medical, go directly to Lieutenant Sam Kerns and then Assistant Chief Tony Reeder
  • If an issue deals with fire, start with the lowest ranking officer and then work your way up.
  • Required training includes FEMA IS 100, 200, 700, and 800, CPR, MFR, Vehicle Extrication
  • Heat Safety: Drink plenty of water (more than you might think you need), sports drinks, etc. Avoid caffeine.
  • Beards: If you choose to keep one, you will no longer be allowed to pack up.
  • MFR need CPR to respond
  • Gear: STOP FORGETTING IT! If you forget your gear, stay in the truck.
  • Training: If you sign up; SHOW UP. If something comes up, report to an officer as soon as possible.
  • The next CPR class through the Camden County Health Department located at 1976 N Bus Hwy 5, PO Box 816 Camdenton, MO 65020 is from 8 am to 3 pm on July 25, 2023.
  • Budget: Both departments are under extremely small budgets (around $7,000/year for both together) and this money is used to pay the fuel, utilities for the stations, parts for the trucks, worker’s comp insurance, vehicle insurance, and minor repairs. Additional fundraising is done by the Ladies Auxiliary which is why it is vital to help with setting up/breaking down fundraisers and other events we do to raise money for the departments. If you would like to help with any of these events organized by the Auxiliary, please speak to Heather.
  • Donations: We have a new page on our website to begin compiling a thank you list to people, businesses, and organizations who assist our department. No donation is TOO SMALL! We are grateful for all the help we receive.
  • Senior Firefighter Brandon Turner was promoted to Lieutenant and is now 1405. For other changes to the roster and DSNs, please visit the Roster page.
  • Truck checks and medical review/practice took up the remainder of the duty crew!
